Vacation

I don't know what to say about this, umm, hmm, how to be tactful, bloody abortion.
These two weeks were planned way back in November 2009.
Here is the itinerary.
Drive to Norfolk, stop in at Myrtle Beach, go home via Cape Kennedy (shuttle launch march 18), do to the air show at MacDill AFB
Obviously it didn't work out that way.
Wifie changed jobs (again) and the low down of that would be, I go on this planned outing alone.
Sis-in-law needed to see her parents and that had turned out to mean they would be boarding a friggin' airplane during my (as compared to our, see above sentience) visit.
Not to outdone by my family, NASA jumped on the band wagon and rescheduled the damn launch to April. I allowed a couple days for postponements but not 3 weeks.
Everyone (except my daughter) told me to cancel the Norfolk leg of my adventure. Keithie and I decided to suck it up because it's "ok" for guys to be disappointed. He really wanted to to show me his wood working shed. The boy is so very proud of it and I wanted to see it. I decided to pack mother dearest in the car and go see my son. I can't write much more about that visit because it didn't happen yet. I'm waiting for my mother to get herself ready. oi
I pulled in Mom & Kim's driveway March 8 at 3 pm. There was enough time to relax and and the three of us went to Golden Corral for dinner. On the 9th Mom And I drove around town. Myrtle Beach was very nice. The city is revitalizing the beach area. It will be gorgeous when it's finished. We had lunch at Pier 14, tinted windows with a view of the ocean and beach. Lovely. I tried to take a few pictures with Mona, but it was a pain in the ass and I'm still learning how to work it.
Now I'm waiting to start my ride to Norfolk. It's 6:30 am and I'm 90 minutes behind schedule.
More later.
